Within the Jean Monnet Module activities of the Pro Facts project, the Faculty of Economics organized a focused open lecture on “Climate and Energy Sector Developments in Albania and the EU.” The session was led by Mirela Kamberi, and brought together Master students in Risk Management and Finance.
Ms. Kamberi provided a comprehensive overview of the evolving global and regional climate agenda, outlining Albania’s progress and obligations under key international agreements.
The lecture further explored the strong link between climate action and the transformation of the energy sector. Attention was given to ongoing efforts supporting renewable energy expansion, including initiatives in photovoltaic development. A clear message emerged on the urgency to diversify energy sources, due to climate-driven changes affecting water resources and consequently hydropower output in Albania.
The activity successfully encouraged students to develop a deeper understanding of energy transition challenges and the importance of adopting EU-aligned sustainability practice
