The second Jean Monnet teaching module within the JusticeForClimate project – “Improving Knowledge for Climate Justice and Human Rights in Albania” – has been successfully concluded.
The module titled was delivered during the spring semester of the academic year 2024–2025 . It aims to:
- Raise public awareness on the importance of Human Rights in disaster situations;
- Equip students, researchers, and practitioners with a solid understanding of European and universal human rights standards related to disaster risk;
- Empower participants to influence policy development and implementation in disaster risk reduction.
The module explored the disaster risk management (DRM) policies, with a focus on how EU institutions negotiate, adopt, and implement DRM frameworks. The course also introduced interdisciplinary perspectives, drawing connections between law, policy, risk management, and human rights.
The final session concluded with a simulation game on disaster preparedness, allowing students to apply their theoretical knowledge in a practical, team-based exercise that mirrored real-world emergency response scenarios.
