The Informative Seminar on “Climate Change and Education: The Role of Higher Education Institutions in Developing Sustainable Education Capacities” took place at the Aula Magna Hall, Liria Building, Faculty of Economics, University of Tirana. The seminar aimed to emphasize the vital role of higher education institutions in advancing sustainable education capacities and promoting climate action.
Elona Pojani, a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics, University of Tirana, delivered a presentation on the role of education in climate action. She discussed the Jean Monnet Module Project, “Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Management in the Framework of EU Integration,” emphasizing the project’s contributions to climate resilience and education.
Narin Panariti, an expert in environmental and climate policy and legislation, provided insights into national climate policies and legislation. The presentation shed light on Albania’s efforts in addressing climate challenges through legal frameworks.
The last part of the seminar focused on student initiatives for climate action. In this activity students from various Higher education institutions participates. It showcased the enthusiasm and dedication of the next generation in addressing climate challenges and driving positive change.
