Since 13 November 2020, the project entitled “Promoting CCA and DRM in the framework of EU Integration” part of the Jean Monnet action in the Erasmus + Program has started its implementation. The project focuses on promoting education in the areas of “Disaster Risk Management” and “Adaptation to Climate Change”, addressed in the framework of European Integration.
The academic staff that manages the project has started developing the first module. “Climate Change Adaptation”. The module will be developed during the first semester of the academic year 2020-2021.
This new Module is part of the curriculum of the Master of Science in Risk Management, offered by the Department of Finance of the Faculty of Economics, University of Tirana. 30 students of the second year of Master of Science in Risk Management program are enrolled in this course.
The module aim and goals have been already presented to the students, and were well received by them. In addition, the students were invited to actively participate in the project activities, through the presentation of their projects, research and other inputs.
This new Jean Monnet Module provides an in-depth assessment of important issues in climate change adaptation and its respective implementation in the framework of EU integration. It places contemporary climate change into its historic context, examines the latest thinking in detection and attribution of recent warming and describes the nature of climate modelling and model uncertainty. The inclusion of EU angle in different relevant topics will offer an additional added value to the teaching and learning process.
Dr. Elona Pojani and Prof. Assoc. Dr Narin Panariti will retain their roles as module leaders of this new module.
